FAQs

Harvesting answers to your most common questions.

How do I choose a signup option?

Most customers choose “Pay per bouquet,” which means your credit card on file will be charged according to your preferred frequency (every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks) on the Sunday evening before your bouquet pickup.

The great thing about our new website is that the system will ask you on Saturday if you still want your bouquet. If you realize you will be out of town or need to skip, you can opt out before our Sunday 8pm cutoff and you will not be charged for that week.

Can I give a Bouquet Subscription as a gift?

Yes! To give a Bouquet Subscription as a gift, simply choose one of the “Prepay for _ Bouquets” options at checkout. Then email us to set up your gift recipient with their subscription so they receive text/email reminders about pickup.

What does it mean to be a Bouquet Subscriber or a “Farm CSA Member?” Are there any perks?

We consider Bouquet Subscribers to be supporting members of our farm who share in the risk and reward of small farming. Your regular bouquet purchase helps keep our family’s income steady and lets us take bigger risks in growing flowers year-round because we know we have a regular way to get these blooms out in the world, regardless of rain, sleet, snow, or heat!

To say thank you, we save our most special blooms and colors for bouquet subscribers, and when the farm has an abundance, we share the love and add extra stems to your bouquet! And to help you see where your blooms come from, we send all active subscribers one free ticket to a you-pick night in August so you can walk the fields, see our growing practices, and cut your own bouquet of gorgeous blooms!

How does weekly ordering & pickup work?

We'll text/email you before we pick, and you'll have until that week's cutoff time (8pm Sunday) to add extras or notify us if you need to skip the share.

And speaking of skip...

How flexible if the subscription? What happens if I go on vacation/need to skip a week?

You will receive a text message/email alert each cycle.  You have the option to “skip” your bouquet by opting out of your upcoming order at no charge before the cutoff time (8pm Sunday).

What happens if I miss a pickup?

Bouquets that are not picked up on pickup day are donated to the staff at the host site. You are always welcome to send a friend for your bouquet if you are not able to pickup, and you always have the option to skip/pause an oder by logging into your Farmhand account and skipping your order or setting an account hold.

What kind of flowers are in Raindance bouquets?

The best specialty cut flowers Raindance Farm has blooming! As the seasons change here in Michigan, you will find brilliant anemones, fringed tulips, romantic ranunculus, intoxicating peonies, unusual sunflowers, lisianthus, tropical curcuma, the entire rainbow of dahlias, an explosion of summer annuals, special heirloom chrysanthemums and specialty lilies gracing your life, along with a perfusion of foliages and supporting blooms.

What kind of vase-life can I expect?

Locally grown flowers are uncommon, extra fresh, and longer lasting in your vase. We love to bring you the very best local blooms we are capable of growing because we know they are special and hard to find.

Approximately 80% of flowers sold in the US are imported, mostly by air freight and mostly from South America. Those blooms have a lot of fossil fuel miles, but they have also been holding in wholesale warehouses, cargo holds, and freight trucks for many extra days.

Our regular customers constantly tell us that our blooms last longer than what they buy in a grocery store. Our local blooms are freshly cut and properly hydrated in our coolers and gently handled as we make your bouquets. Most species we grow last 1-2 weeks in your vase!
